New Client Process

We designed a process to help you (and us) make an educated and informed decision about working together. At the end, you will know exactly where you stand financially and will have a framework for evaluating us and other advisors you might be considering.

For people who are potentially a good fit for our firm, there is no cost or obligation for this process as we want you to know exactly how we can help you before you decide to work with us. We do our best work with diligent savers over age 50 who have accumulated retirement assets of $500,000 or more and are looking to delegate their financial planning and investment management to a professional so they can spend time on what matters most to them. 

The very first step is a 30 minute phone call with Matt.

Step 1 - Introductory Phone Call

This 30 minute phone call will help you determine if your situation matches our knowledge base. After all, you wouldn’t want to meet with a heart surgeon if you have a knee problem.

If Matt is not the right fit, we will gladly introduce you to another advisor on our team or another firm that is better equipped to meet your needs.

Step 2 - First Meeting, Get Acquainted

Prescription without diagnosis is malpractice

The purpose of this meeting is to clarify your goals, concerns, and unique financial situation.

Your answers to our questions, along with the documents we request that you bring, will guide our analysis. The end result will be plain-English answers to your most important questions.

Step 3 - Our Analysis

We will apply years of experience, hundreds of hours of education and training, and our thorough understanding of your situation to answer these critical questions for you:

  1. Are you on track to retire comfortably?
  2. How can your tax bill be reduced?
  3. How can your investments be improved?

Step 4 - Second Meeting, Recommendations

During this meeting we will explain, in plain English, exactly what you need to do to achieve your financial goals.

This is where you will see exactly how our firm can improve your finances.

At the end of this meeting, we will ask if you would like to begin working with our firm or if you would like to think it over.

Step 5 - Think It Over

We are looking for long-term client relationships that benefit everyone involved. To that end, we want you to feel completely comfortable with your decision, so please take as much time as you need. To help you make a wise decision, consider the following questions:

  1. Do I like/trust/respect Matt and his team?
  2. Will the benefits they provide exceed the cost?
  3. Do I understand and agree with their investment philosophy?
  4. Do their recommendations make sense to me?

We will follow-up with you shortly to determine how you would like to move forward and while we would love to work with you, if you decide that we aren’t a good fit, we won't be offended. In fact, we will wish you all the best and part as friends. In other words, there is never any pressure to say yes.
